Men's XC at Muskegon Invite
The Kellogg men's cross country team competed on Friday, October 12th at the Muskegon Jayhawks Invite. The team placed 11th, and six of the men had personal records (PRs).
Head Coach Tom Shaw said, "The Bruins finished 11th of 24 total teams and 5th of 12 NJCAA teams in the race today. Freshman Julian Borst was 16th in the field of 184 runners. With his time, Borst moves into the 2nd best time in the nation in NJCAA Division 3 season so far. Borst also broke the KCC all-time record with his 26:06 time. Sophomore Alex Steward moved up to 4th all-time in KCC history with his time of 27:45. Steward improved 1 minute and 30 seconds faster then his season best and bettered his career PR by 46 seconds in a spectacular race. Freshman Isaac Greene lowered his PR by 1 minute 59 seconds (33:02), Freshman Will Kennedy lowered his PR by 1 minute and 54 seconds (29:34) while getting under that impressive 30:00 barrier, and Freshman Zach Regis lowered his PR by 1 minute and 43 seconds. Josh Hennessy also had a PR (30:27)"
Bruins are back in action on Friday, October 25 at 12:45 p.m. at the NJCAA Region XII Championship in Goodells, MI.
